Eddie Howe's side took on Champions League-chasing Arsenal, who desperately needed a win to fend off advances from Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle showed up in style and pulled off a 2-0 victory thanks to an own goal from Ben White and classy finish from Bruno Guimaraes in what is being touted as the team's best performance for a long time.

St. James' Park was in fine form to take in the win too, with the biggest ever Wor Flags display turning the stadium into a cauldron of Geordie passion.

Many fans had their breath taken away by the atmosphere in the ground for the final match of a rejuvenating 2020/21 season, including celebs Ant & Dec.

The Byker lads are Newcastle fans through and through and are often pictured at games.

After watching the match on Monday night, the Britain's Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway hosts went down to pitchside as the players completed a lap of honour.

Filming a TikTok for the official Newcastle United page, Ant said: "Here we are, the players are doing a walkaround.

"What a turnaround! Toon, Toon!"

A jubilant Dec added: "It's electric, what an atmosphere!

"For two fans to be here on pitchside, our tiny minds are blown!"
