It’s claimed the Leicester City star is keen on a move to Newcastle United.

Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes is reportedly keen on a move back to the Premier League with Newcastle United.

While the Magpies remain interested in James Maddison, Eddie Howe has been alerted to Barnes after an impressive campaign.

Although the Foxes were relegated to the Championship, the 25-year-old finished top goalscorer with 13 goals in 34 league appearances. He scored during their final win against West Ham and was a second half at St James’ Park which saw Newcastle secure Champions League football last Monday night.

With Barnes keen to continue plying his trade in England’s top-flight, the former West Bromwich Albion loanee is interested in joining Howe’s side - according to Football Insider. He is understood to be valued at £40million with two years remaining on his contract.

Maddison is also said to be open to joining United. The England international has been a long-term target for Howe having seen two bids rejected last summer.

There had been doubts over whether or not Maddison is genuinely interested in the move but according to the i Paper, he is having discussed Newcastle with Kieran Trippier on England duty.

Leicester have recently valued Maddison, who has attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, at £50million but could accept a reduced asking price following relegation.
