Newcastle United hold talks with second midfielder as Sandro Tonali agreement reached">As reported by NewcastleWorld on Thursday, Newcastle United have held talks with Leipzig regarding the 22-year-old this week.
Szoboszlai has a £61million release clause, which expires on June 30. The Magpies would likely look to negotiate below that figure, if talks do indeed accelerate.
If the opportunity to move to England arrives, Szoboszlai has been urged to grasp it by former Leipzig assistant manager and fellow Hungarian Tamas Bodog. “If he changes, I think only England is a clear step forward for him,” the Hertha Berlin assistant told Index.Hu. “Of course, there are top teams in Italy, France and Spain, but I think the Premier League would be the best choice for him.

“He won the support of the audience, it’s no coincidence that they are behind him even if he has a worse series. They don’t cross it. If he goes to Newcastle now, or to another English team, and for big money, he will have to produce something every week, much more focused, and then maybe he will be in the crossfire.”
Eddie Howe also remains interested in Leicester City star James Maddison as he looks to add another elite midfielder to his squad to follow the imminent arrival of AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali.
