It’s been a busy start to the summer transfer window for Newcastle United - with further signings set to follow.
Eddie Howe’s side kicked off their summer transfer business with the arrival of Matt Targett on permanent basis from Aston Villa.
The Magpies were linked with Atletico Madrid left-back Renan Lodi but Targett’s form during his successful loan spell last season made his £15million signing a no brainer.
Next through the door was England international Nick Pope.
While sources in Manchester insisted Dean Henderson was on his way to Tyneside, Newcastle quietly went about their business in completing a deal for Pope.
United paid around £12million to Burnley to recruit Pope, who will now rival Martin Dubravka for the No.1 jersey.
Then, on Tuesday evening, Newcastle confirmed the arrival of the man they so desperately wanted - Lille defender Sven Botman.
A six-month long chase ended in delight for the Magpies, who beat Italian champions AC Milan to his signature to put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
A more than productive start to the window for Newcastle but they aren’t finished there.
NewcastleWorld, bearing in mind the latest rumours, takes at a look at the players that could join Newcastle this summer - and those that probably won’t.

9. Christian Eriksen - could join
NewcastleWorld understands contact lines between United and Eriksen’s representatives very much remain open. Manchester United and Brentford are also interested as the Denmark star nears a decision on his next club. | AFP via Getty Images

10. Lucas Paqueta - unlikely to join
A transfer Newcastle fans are all willing to happen due to his friendship with Bruno Guimaraes. But his price tag, for a position that isn’t a priority at present, makes a deal unlikely - at this stage. | Getty Images

11. Thorgan Hazard - could join
A story from the German media linked Newcastle with a move for Hazard. He’d certainly be one of the cheaper options given the hefty amount United have been quoted for other wide forwards. | Getty Images

12. Jack Harrison - unlikely to join
A transfer that largely depended on Leeds being relegated, which, of course, didn’t happen, after the help of Newcastle on the final day of the season. With Raphinha on his way out, you’d presume Leeds will hold on to Harrison. | Getty Images
