In the footballing world, January is the month for comings and goings as transfer talk takes over, but in a surprise off-the-pitch move, Newcastle United have put pen to paper to join Newcastle Restaurant Week for 2023.

The popular scheme is run by NE1 and takes place twice a year when restaurants throughout the city slash prices and put on set menus to give locals the chance to dine out for cheap. Newcastle Restaurant Week has been running since 2011 and will return for a bumper edition between January 16 and 22 this year.

The usual participants are all on the long list of 116 restaurants taking part this month including Blackfriars, Sachins, and 21 Newcastle, which were all part of the very first event more than a decade ago.

Amongst the restaurants is the catering team at St. James' Park, who are present for the first time ever.

Customers can enjoy an exclusive tasting menu with a view of the famous pitch for £20 between Thursday, January 19 and Saturday, January 21 - Newcastle United do not play at home between these days. There are two sittings per evening on each day, one at 5 pm and one at 8 pm.
