The 26 Newcastle United players contracted for the 2023-24 campaign - and six out of contract this summer

Some big decisions lie in wait for Eddie Howe as he continues to rebuild the Magpies squad.

Newcastle United’s sole focus is on ensuring a season full of improvement is rewarded with a place in the top four of the Premier League and a return to the Champions League after a 20-year absence.

As it stands, the Magpies sit in third place in the table, two points clear of Manchester United and a further point ahead of an ever-improving Liverpool side. European qualification has already been secured as Eddie Howe’s men can not finish outside of the top seven and one more win would ensure they will take part in the Europa League next season. However, it is a return to the Champions League for the first time since the days of Sir Bobby Robson, Alan Shearer and Laurent Robert that remains the main aim.

Competing alongside the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli would hand a major boost to United’s plans to improve and strengthen Howe’s squad over the coming transfer windows - but the Magpies face some major contract decisions over current members of their ranks. With the summer transfer window rapidly approaching, NewcastleWorld looks at the current contract situation across the United squad.
