The shock alternative England squad that includes Newcastle United and Aston Villa stars

Two Magpies stars should be considered for an England call-up if a stats based website is to be believed.

Gareth Southgate will announce his latest England squad on Tuesday afternoon as the Three Lions prepare for a quartet of Nations League fixtures next month.

Southgate’s men kick off their campaign when they visit Hungary on the first Saturday of June before facing a second away day against Germany three days later.

A first home game of the Nations League arrives on Saturday 11th June and then a hectic schedule is completed when Hungary at Wembley 72 hours later.

The usual suspects are expected to be named in Southgate’s squad with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Declan Rice, Phil Foden and Harry Kane all expected to be involved after impressing throughout the Premier League season.

It seems unlikely any Newcastle United players will be packing their bags to head to St Georges Park - but a stat-based website has revealed two Magpies stars should be considered after playing a key role in the push up the Premier League table during the second half of the season.
