Newcastle United and Everton go head-to-head for the second time in four days at St James’ Park tonight.
The Magpies travelled to Merseyside in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening but suffered a 3-1 defeat. Now Matthias Jaissle’s side will look to gain revenge in the Premier League.
United head into the game sitting 12th in the Premier League table, one point above the Toffees, but will move up to seventh with a victory.
Team news-wise, Newcastle are expected to be without Will Osula after the 23-year-old striker was forced off at half-time during last week’s cup match after rolling his ankle. The young Dane had only just returned from another ankle injury.
Meanwhile, £51 million summer signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley also remain doubtful, having missed the last two games with illness and a glute problem, respectively.
So, how will Newcastle United line up against Everton? Here’s our predicted XI:

5. CB: Dan Burn
Didn’t cover himself in glory for the second or third goal at Everton before heading in a late consolation. Newcastle need their captain, but he needs to do better. | AFP via Getty Images

6. LB: Lewis Hall
Newcastle may accept an up-and-down season, but Hall won’t, and shouldn’t. The reality is that the left-back is too good to be playing for a mid-table to lower Premier League team. | Getty Images

7. CM: Nico Gonzalez
A consistent performer in an inconsistent team. Has that bit of quality and composure that others lack. | Getty Images

8. CM: Joelinton (in for Jacob Ramsey)
Has functioned OK alongside Gonzalez in there, even though he often lacks quality on the ball. | Getty Images
