Where Newcastle United finished in the 21/22 Premier League - based on Eddie Howe’s time only

The Newcastle United head coach boss made a big impact on and off the pitch after his appointment last season.

Newcastle United will get their 2022/23 season underway with a home game against Nottingham Forest as Eddie Howe looks to continue building on the positive impact he has made at St James Park.

The former Bournemouth manager took over a United side sat in the relegation zone after failing to win in their opening 11 league games of last season and a slide into the Championship looked to be on the cards.

A challenging start to his tenure meant Howe’s side had failed to win in their first 14 games by the time a Callum Wilson goal saw off Burnley in early December.

But the hard work of Howe and his coaching staff, the willingness of the Magpies players to buy into their methods and a positive January transfer window saw Newcastle write their name in Premier League history books.

No other side had failed to win in their opening 14 games and remain in the Premier League - but Howe and his players did more than just survive, they flourished and secured an 11th place finish following a remarkable end to the season.

But where would Newcastle have finished in a Premier League table based on results during Howe’s time in charge?
