Your £500m-rated Newcastle United starting XI after January transfers gallery - according to Football Manager

Will the Magpies be active when the January transfer window opens? Football Manager believes so...

There was once a time when transfer windows meant little to Newcastle United supporters.

If anything, they were a time to fear losing their better players and holding little hope that any significant replacements would be acquired. But that all changed last year when a PIF-led consortium completed a long-awaited takeover at St James Park and heralded the return of investment and ambition.

The likes of Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn and Bruno Guimaraes arrived last January and made an immediate impact as Eddie Howe’s side raced away from the Premier League relegation zone and secured a mid-table finish by the time a transformative season came to an end.

The summer transfer window was equally as productive as Howe added Sven Botman, Nick Pope and Alexander Isak to his squad as his side embarked on a highly promising first half of the season. Now, sat in third place in the Premier League table, hopes are high the Magpies can continue their push for European football by adding more quality to their squad when the transfer window opens next month.

NewcastleWorld has utilised the highly popular Football Manager 2023 game to predict what business will take place at St James Park in January - and it’s safe to say there is one shock addition to Howe’s ranks.
