Former Newcastle United star David Ginola captured the heart of a nation - here’s why

David Ginola stole the hearts of Danny Miller, and the nation in last night’s I’m A Celeb.

Ginola joined the Premier League in 1995 when he transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Newcastle United.

After leaving the club in 1997 he continued to play in the Premier League with clubs such as Aston Villa, Tottenham, and for a short period of time, Everton, before retiring in 2002.

Now the former winger is currently stealing the hearts of the nation as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

On last night’s episode, the 54-year-old was seen giving Danny Miller a bit of encouragement with a motivational speech.

“Think about all the good things, and not the bad things. Try to say ‘OK, I haven’t done that before,” he said.

“You’re going to do it. It’s as simple as that. You’re strong. I believe in you. Do it for you.”

The speech clearly had an effect on Miller, who thanked Ginola, and later went on to describe him as his ‘man crush’.

Ginola also stole the hearts of viewers across the country after his ‘wholesome’ moment with Miller.

Previous Queen of the Castle, Gionvanna Fletcher commented on the Instagram video: ‘Gosh I love him!! Xxxx”

While another user commented, “David is King already, what an inspirational guy”.

Thousands of people took to social media to talk about their love for the former football player.
