and live on Freeview channel 276
Sam Fender has teased new music this week following studio sessions with his band.
On Tuesday evening the North Shields based singer-songwriter posted five videos to his Instagram story showing what he and his band were working on ahead of what is expected to be a big year for the group of childhood friends.

Each video shows Fender behind the mixing desk of a recording studio, we assume working on new tracks fans are yet to hear. The unheard songs are very faithful to the sound the songwriter has developed over his first two albums, Hypersonic Missiles and the critically acclaimed Seventeen Going Under.

The clips show studio performances from Fender’s saxophone player Johnny Blue Hat before a team look to mix the instrument alongside pre recorded vocals with the group seeming hugely excited at how the recordings and new songs are sounding. Lyrics sounding like “the poor soul on the street” can also be heard in the mix, suggesting Fender is continuing his run of writing songs about downtrodden members of society.
Sam Fender has not yet announced any new music releases for 2023 but there are a series of big dates coming up for the musician and his band.
Following on from an incredible sold out show at Finsbury Park show in London last summer, they are bringing two huge summer shows to the North East at St James’ Park. These will be on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 6. Fender will also headline Reading and Leeds festivals over the final weekend of August.
