Off the back of his headline show at Tyne Theatre & Opera House, Matt Reed will host the night alongside sets from Gavin Webster, Kelly Edgar, Harry Ford, Catherine Young, Neil Harris and Jack Fox.

Will Walker, founder of the Musicians Mental Health Alliance NE, said: “The aim is to raise awareness for mental health and create a safe space for those that have a lot going on.

“Mental health services and the NHS are so underfunded, we wanted to do anything we could to try and help.”

All money raised will go to if you care share foundation, a charity which supports vulnerable people and those bereaved by suicide.

The first of many, the Musicians Mental Health Alliance NE plans to put on events throughout the year with the end goal of releasing a 2024 local musicians calender to raise more money for the charity.

Nic, frontman of Tired of Fighting, who is helping run the event, said: “Comedy and music provide such a cathartic release and standup’s one of my favourite things in the world.

“Music is the greatest vehicle for communication and emotion, no matter your taste, and comedy is too.”

Comedy Rox will take place at Bobiks in Jesmond on Sunday 16th
