Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 21 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

9. Arya
Arya is a shy but sweet little lady who is still adjusting to the shelter environment. She currently spends a lot of her time hiding away, but can be persuaded out with the help of some Lick-e-lix treats! She also loves catnip and will happily roll around in a pile of it! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

10. Coco (Pointer x Labrador)
Coco is a beautiful, active and intelligent girl. She is high-energy and needs a family who can keep up with her and provide her with plenty of both mental and physical stimulation, to keep her happy and healthy in both body and mind. She is a sweet lady who is very affectionate and friendly with her humans! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

11. Kylo (Mastiff Cross)
Kylo is a lovely, big lad with a big character to match! He can be a little worried initially when meeting new people, but once he’s comfortable – he’s so much fun and a joy to spend time with. Kylo needs a family with experience and confidence in managing large breeds. He has shown reactivity towards other dogs whilst in our care and needs someone who has the knowledge and capabilities to responsibly manage this behaviour and spend time working on him developing more appropriate behaviours. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

12. Diego (Crossbreed)
Diego is a lovely lad who sadly finds the world quite an overwhelming place! He is very worried by strangers and other dogs, once he is comfortable with you – he really relies on his humans for comfort and reassurance. As he is such a nervous boy, this does come out as reactivity when he is feeling overwhelmed and so he needs experienced and confident owners who can provide him with ongoing support and training to help him be able to manage his fears more appropriately. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
