Temperatures are set to hit 17 degrees in Newcastle this weekend, as other parts of the country get ready for heat in the 20s.

The restaurant has now started taking bookings for the outdoor terrace which is overlooked by the city's famous Grey's Monument.

The entrance to Chaophraya is through Eldon Square Shopping Centre, but the restaurant benefits from the outdoor terrace with a selection of tables and sofas.

As well as Grey's Monument, the rooftop looks over Newcastle's famous city streets and the hubbub of activity ever-present below.

Chaophraya serves traditional Thai dishes such as Pad Thai and Gaeng Massaman, as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

The restaurant is also known for bringing an element of theatre to its dishes, with a dramatic serving style.

There's also a bar with new cocktails for the summer to be enjoyed on the terrace.

Customers don't have to eat at the restaurant either, with the option to just soak up the sun with a drink in hand available.
