The latest Marvel extravaganza made £14.9m over opening weekend in the UK, but Newcastle's principal cinema missed out on that.
The closure extension means that Cineworld will also be shut for the releases of blockbusters Top Gun Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion.

Hide AdThe clear choice for cinema-goers who usually visit the Cineworld Newcastle is to head over the river to Vue Gateshead.
Vue is showing both Doctor Strange already and will be screening Top Gun Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion as soon as they come out.
The Gateshead cinema is just a 24-minute walk from Cineworld and you can avoid walking down and up the hill again by crossing the High Level Bridge.
Unsurprisingly, Vue will be much busier than usual, but with plenty of screens, there are many seats available.

The independent cinema has fantastic character with a different style of cinema screen on each floor.
The Tyneside Cinema also offers some cracking deals for members and young customers who can benefit from cut-price tickets.
It's just a seven-minute walk from The Gate.
Unfortunately, the cinema doesn't have Doctor Strange on the listings, so Marvel lovers will have to look elsewhere.
It will be showing Top Gun: Maverick on release.
Everyman Cinema
