The first game falls on the same evening as Girls Aloud’s first night back at the city’s Utilita Arena - which is being marked as Cheryl’s big return and reintroduction to North East audiences.

With so much happening across the city on Friday night, the FA have put together a guide on getting to the England vs France game this Friday.

How to get to St James Park for England Women vs France

The guide says: “The best way to travel to St. James’ Park is to make use of the Tyne & Wear Metro network.

“The stadium is within easy of reach of St. James and Monument stations for quick, direct links to and from Newcastle city centre, and the Metro is connected to many Park and Ride sites across the city.”

The main park and ride setup for the fixture will run from Gateshead’s Metrocentre.

“The stadium is also very accessible on foot – just a 10-minute walk into the city centre for Newcastle Central rail station, and the city’s major bus stations.”

There is no supporter parking at the stadium, so spectators are encouraged to avoid driving to the stadium on matchday.
