'For diners who missed out' - NE1 extend 'restaurant week' due to riot threats

In response to calls from businesses and the public, NE1 has worked with the city’s restaurant community to extend the event until Sunday, Augusy 18.

Hide AdThe decision was reached in light of events in the city last week which impacted heavily on the city's hospitality industry and on the NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week event.
62 of the 108 original participants have agreed to take part in the newly extended NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week event and will be offering people the chance to dine at some of the city’s finest restaurants for a second week for fixed-price menus of £15, £20 or £25 per person.
This is only the second time in the event’s 13-year history that NE1 has extended its NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week and the first time the August event has spanned two weeks.

Hide AdThe only other NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week to be extended was in January 2013 when extreme weather conditions and heavy snow blocked roads and transport routes into the city and the decision was taken to extend the offer for a second week.
