The most expensive street to live on across Newcastle and Tyneside has been revealed.

A data tool created by home sales company Property Solvers has been crunching the numbers behind the property market.

The tool tracks average sold price data from HM Land Registry since 2016 across the North East.

From that, it has determined the most expensive streets in the region.

Only streets with over three sales were included, to prevent any skewed data.

The most pricey road in the area isn’t, perhaps surprisingly, in the heralded Golden Triangle of Jesmond where some of Newcastle United’s big-name signings are living.

It’s actually further away from the city centre and close to Newcastle Airport.

It’s Runnymede Road in Ponteland that takes home the crown for the region’s most luxurious street.

Eight properties sold since 2016 with an average sale price of an eye-watering £1,785,125.

Looking at the houses currently on the market, you can see the luxury that buys you.

On Rightmove, there are two properties for sale right now.

Both are five-bed detached houses, one with a valuation of £2,000,000 and the other is being sold as a plot of land with planning permission already granted.

The £2 million property has a grand living room space and open plan kitchen.

There are more social spaces and family rooms on top of that too.

A master bedroom opens up onto a grand balcony and has a large tiled ensuite.

There are, of course, more bedrooms all of an enviable size.

Outside the property is given privacy by large trees and a private driveway.

The description reads: “159 Runnymede Road has been extensively redeveloped by the present owner and now provides a stunning luxury mansion, set back and very private from this most sought after prestigious address.

“With outstanding accommodation approaching 7,000 square feet, this is a fabulous opportunity to acquire a very impressive house which has been extensively remodelled, refurbished and improved with private gardens and grounds.

“The extensive remodelling and refurbishment has created a luxurious home with a considerable amount of style and character.”

The house on Runnymede Road yet to have a price is awaiting investment from somebody wanting to build it.

The photos currently on show are an artist’s design.

From the outside, it looks like a modern property with a huge driveway, a large garage and three floors to the house.

For the plot of land only you’d be paying £799,500, and the price from the complete project is a stunning £2,700,000.
