A cast member from Geordie Shore has been given a reality TV ban after his alleged drug use was discovered.

28-year-old Marty McKenna, who first appeared in Geordie Shore in 2016, returned for the Geordie Shore reunion series, which took place between September and November of last year.

Prior to Geordie Shore, Marty made his first reality TV appearance on MTV’s Ex On The Beach in 2015. He went on to become a main cast member of Geordie Shore the year after before being axed in 2017 for taking drugs.

Marty was eventually allowed to return to Geordie Shore in both 2021 and 2022, and also appeared on Channel 4 reality dating show, Celebs Go Dating.

However, according to The Scottish Sun, Marty will not appear on reality TV for the next six months, due to a ban handed to him due to further drug use. The six month ban will include the return of Geordie Shore: The Reunion Series.

A source who spoke with The Sun said that MTV have asked Marty to “sort himself out” and “clean up his act”, over the next six months. They further explained: "MTV has a firm anti-drugs policy and has already sacked Marty in the past for drug use.

"Now other TV execs have made clear they won’t put up with it and will not allow him back on screen for the next six months."

Filming for Geordie Shore: The Reunion Series will begin this month, and Marty is not the only cast member who will not be returning. It has been reported that fan favourite, 25-year-old Abbie Holborn has also not been asked to return for the second series of the spin-off show.
