Newcastle has been listed as one of the 20 best cities to raise a family in all of Europe.
The recent study from Preply analysed over 130 European cities and graded them according to their education, health and safety and leisure and lifestyle.

Contributing factors like teacher to student ratios, cost of living, amount of recreational spaces and healthcare accessibility were included in the findings.
Newcastle was ranked at joint 20th place alongside Krakow, Poland and Tromso, Norway on the overall list.

The Toon fared much better in the lifestyle category, where it ranked third, beaten only by Aberdeen and Lisbon.


The only other UK cities in the Europe Top 20 were Edinburgh and Aberdeen, and Portugese island Madeira, Funchal, ranked as the best place to raise a family.

London was ranked as the worst city in Europe for raising children.
