Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter: Six adorable dogs looking for their forever home
From cheeky chap Rupert to the appropriately named high-energy Buzz - these dogs are looking for their forever home in the North East.

The amazing team at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter work tirelessly to help give their four-legged residents a better path in life. At the moment, the shelter has six dogs in their care that are looking for their forever home.
All the animals at the shelter's sites on Claremont Road and in Benton have their own stories and unique needs. The centre takes in abandoned and mistreated animals and coaxes them back to full health and confidence, before sending them off with new loving families.
It sounds simple, but it's a process that requires a hands-on team of 30 to manage and see through from start to finish. Earlier this year NewcastleWorld visited the Benton home to meet Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter's staff and residents.
Below you can meet the six dogs currently looking for a forever home at the shelter, from cheeky Rupert to the high-energy Buzz.
More information about the dogs available to foster at Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter can be found here and you can donate to the organisation here.
Information on dogs available for adoption is correct as of Tuesday, November 1.

1. Buzz - 4-year-old Jackuhuahua
"Buzz is an awesome little fella who has the biggest personality in his teeny, little body! He is such a loving boy who simply adores to be with his human friends. He has energy for days and a bounce that seems to be battery powered!”

2. Neil - 3-year-old Lurcher
“Neil is a true joy to be around, he is a loving boy but has a real silly side once you get to know him, his zoomies are loads of fun to watch! Neil has the best manners going and is a very gentle boy, he will make someone very happy and bring a lot of love and affection into his new families lives."

3. Misty - 1-year-old German Shepherd cross English Mastiff
“Misty is a very spirited girl who has lots of energy and requires quite a bit of exercise! She will also need quite a lot of enrichment and brain games to keep her occupied. Training should be made easier with Misty due to her love of food!”

4. Rupert - 1-year-old Crossbreed
"Rupert is a very lively young boy who has had no training and will need to start from scratch! He can get very over excited very quickly which can lead to silly behaviour! He also needs further training and socialisation around other dogs.”
