Newcastle man on murder charge after Manchester ‘disturbance’

Newcastle-resident Callum Crosbie has been charged with murder and is expected to appear before court on Monday.

Police have charged a 22-year-old after a man died following a street incident near the Printworks in Manchester city centre.

GMP officers were called to a report of a disturbance outside a bar on Dantzic Street after 8pm on Saturday.

Police said a 60-year-old man, who was a passer-by at the time and not involved in the initial disturbance, was assaulted. He died at the scene. The man has not yet been named.

Callum Crosbie, 22, of Coleridge Close, Newcastle upon Tyne, has been charged with murder and possession of a Class A drug.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester City Magistrates Court on Monday.
