Many Newcastle United fans are saying the same thing as this luxurious mansion in Medburn near the Millionaire’s Row of Ponteland hits the market.
The £1 million listing hit Rightmove in mid-September and it looks just as stunning as many of the huge homes in that area. However, on further inspection, Magpies fans had their heads turned by some of the displays in the leisure suite by the swimming pool.
In the property pictures, there are a number of framed shirts with Dwight Gayle on the back. As well as the black-and-white of Newcastle, the appears to be a Crystal Palace, Peterborough United and Dagenham & Redbridge jersey.
Fans who spotted the property online admitted that the £1 million asking price was "actually not a bad price as far as Ponteland houses go" and others said they might be lining up a bid, but only if they could get a 100 year mortgage.
Gayle made 113 appearances for Newcastle United between 2016 and 2022, hitting the ground running in his first campaign when he became the side's talisman in the Championship. The striker struggled to continue that form in the Premier League and was in and out of the side after that.
For the 2018/19 season, Gayle was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion, where he netted 23 goals in 39 appearances and eventually was sold to Stoke City in July 2022, where he signed a two-year contract.
