Sandro Tonali is set to join Newcastle United, though Al mistook him for a former Strictly Come Dancing judge.

A Newcastle United fan has made a hilarious connection between the team and a former Strictly Come Dancing judge after asking his phone a question.

Newcastle United are set to sign AC Milan star Sandro Tonali for £60 million, with final talks said to be taking place this afternoon. The 23-year-old Italian international’s reported salary of £6.8m-a-year will make him the club’s highest earner.

Tonali will link up with Brazilian favourite Bruno Guimaraes in midfield, and Magpies fans are excited at the thought of the two playing together.

One fan decided to ask his phone what a midfield made up of the two players would look like using AI (artificial intelligence), but was shocked when he was presented with a familiar face.

The search result brought up former Strictly Come Dancing judge, who has recently joined the panel of judges on Britain’s Got Talent, 67-year-old Bruno Tonioli.

Despite Sandro Tonali and Bruno Tonioli having different surnames, the similarities of the names teamed with the name Bruno, made the phone certain that the fan was searching for an image of the Italian dancer.

The fan posted to Twitter to share his hilarious find, as he wrote: “I asked Siri what a midfield of Bruno and Tonoli would look like and this is what I got”, sharing a screenshot of Bruno Tonioli.

The post from the fan, whose Twitter handle is @BiffaBacon1, has since racked up almost 1,000 views.

Other Newcastle United fans have discussed the Bruno Tonioli connection, making light-hearted jokes and comments about the TV star taking to St James’ Park pitch.
