Although the surgery went to plan, one of Emma’s lungs collapsed after the surgery. Gaz described the situation as “the hardest thing our family will ever go through”, explaining that the children were “emotional wrecks” as they missed their “mummy”.
Last year, Emma revealed she was suffering from symptoms of ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Speaking about her health conditions, she told The Sun: “The past year has been a whirlwind. I’m still trying to get my head around this latest health issue. One health issue after another gets you down, and I was so thin, my face looked gaunt, which made me feel insecure.”
