Vicky Pattisontook to her Instagram on Friday to update her 5.3 million followers on her fertility journey. The former Geordie Shore star, 35, from Newcastle,  happily shared that 10 of her eggs have been retrieved after surgery and added a snap of herself looking stunning in hospital despite wearing a hospital nightgown.

She captioned the post: “I’ve got so much I want to bloody say and I know I’ll run out of characters so let me try to keep this brief & to the point (famous last words 😂)Thank You so much for all your gorgeous messages of kindness and concern- you don’t know how much it has meant to me, especially as I’ve had a hard few days”.

The BBC Pilgrimage star has been extremely vocal about her fertility issues and admits she has been struggling with the process both mentally and physically.

Vicky said: “As some of you may know I went into @londonwomensclinic in Harley Street on Tuesday for my egg retrieval. After almost 2 weeks of hormone highs and lows, injections and scans my little eggies were finally ready to be popped in the freezer or turned into embryos!”.

“The surgery itself is pretty straight forward- I was put to sleep & when I woke up I was given the good news that 10 eggs had been retrieved 😍.

During every stage of the retrieval process you can sort of expect that number to decline, so just for some perspective, I went in there with 12 follicles ready to be drained and the prospect of there being 12 eggs. Of course there were 10 in the end and we later found out that 9 of those were mature.”

She was incredibly happy to confess that she and her fiancé, Ercan Ramadan, were very content with the results, saying: “There are more stages for our eggs to go through and we are just hoping that our good luck continues at the blastocyst process”.

Vicky has unfortunately suffered online abuse from a number of her followers who’ve criticised her for freezing her eggs. The former Geordie Shore star began to question whether or not to continue her candid posts due to the negative comments.
