When it was announced Sandro Tonali would join Newcastle United excitement swept across Tyneside.
Fans immediately got to work coming up with Italian-themed chants and images which would make the midfielder feel right at home. This naturally led to Tonali’s face being superimposed onto the Birra Moretti logo- because why wouldn’t it?

And now the joke has gone one step further. Birra Moretti UK has now responded to the video of Tonali signing the image.
“So good,” they tweeted alongside the trademark Italian hand gesture emoji. “We love the logo creation. We would love to get this onto some bottles for Sandro Tonali... Let’s do it?”

One fan tweeted: ‘You dare make these just for him and not for all of us,’ while another said ‘Spike in sales around Tyneside.’
But could it lead to a future deal for Newcastle and St James’ Park?
‘Official drinks partner in SJP next season, aye?’ predicts one supporter.
