Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming May bank holiday and half-term breaks for pupils in Newcastle.

When do schools in Newcastle finish for the May half-term?

Students will break up for one week to conclude the spring term of 2022.

The last day of the spring term will be Friday 27 May.

Students are expected to return to the classroom on Monday 6 June. This will mark the beginning of the summer term.

What dates are the May bank holidays?

There is one bank holiday in May this year, and this is known as the early May bank holiday.

For 2022 the early May bank holiday will fall on Monday 2 May, meaning pupils across Newcastle will have a long weekend before their half term later in the month.

When is the next bank holiday after the May break?

People and students across Newcastle will have Thursday 2 June off for the official spring bank holiday.
