Today we are launching #LoveYour to celebrate the local businesses, people, places and the quirks which make Newcastle so amazing.

The campaign, launched to coincide with the annual ‘Journalism Matters’ weekend and in the run-up to the festive season, will be a love letter to our city as we focus on everything from amazing pubs to top notch chippies, from the most beautiful walks to family favourite attractions.

Our reporters are out and about experiencing the community afresh and reporting back but we need also you to share your top local tips. If you #LoveYour - we want to know what and why.

From favourite sites visited across generations such as Grey’s Monument to Quayaide bars and restaurants and the newest, most exciting additions across Tyneside, we’ll be sharing our favourites with you.

Jason Button, LoveYour campaign champion for Newcastle said: “As a team who call the North East home, we are in a privilaged position to see what we believe to be the best part of the country first hand.

“It can, however, be easy to see apathy build around what you see every day. We want to shine a light on the city and its surrounding areas to really show off the everyday greatness of where we call home.”
