However, this year it was widely reported that the pair had become an item. Although never confirmed by either Swift or Healy, fans speculated that they had become romantically involved, after apparently noticing hints from the two.

Swift, who is highly regarded as a global superstar, known for her hits such as Love Story and Shake It Off, had recently ended a 6-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn before being linked to Healy.

Healy, who is the child of Newcastle actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy, has been linked to the likes of singer FKA Twigs and various models.

Fans of the pair were delighted at the possibility of the two being in a relationship, with some fans expressing excitement at the prospect of Denise Welch being Swift’s future Mother In Law.

However, according to TMZ, the pair had called time on their brief relationship. A source reportedly told Entertainment Tonight: "Taylor and Matty broke up. They are both extremely busy and realised they’re not really compatible with each other.”

They added: "Taylor’s friends want what’s best for her and aren’t shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship."

Healy, who is known for kissing fans at The 1975’s concerts as part of their set, was seen to lock lips with a security guard at their show in Denmark, during a performance of their song Robbers.
