Amanda Staveley revealed her pride after Newcastle United beat Chelsea 4-1 at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.

The club's co-owner watched on from the directors' box alongside husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi as goals from Alexander Isak, Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon saw the Magpies return to winnings after the defeat at AFC Bournemouth before the international break.

Staveley visited the home dressing room at full-time to congratulate Eddie Howe & Co. Then posting to Instagram, the Ripon-born financier said: "What an amazing game! So proud of the whole team who worked so hard today. All we ever want is the best for our amazing Club and fans 🖤🤍"

Fellow co-owners Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben also took to social media after the game, with both appearing to address the St James' Park atmosphere.

"What a team," Ghodoussi said on X. "#nufc we need to give these guys more support in the stadium, we need to be louder, we need to be the 12th man. #HWTL."

Reuben replied: "What a team and yes we need to match the intensity of the players with our support".

Newcastle, who were without 13 senior players against Chelsea, travel to the French capital to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Howe's side must avoid defeat in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages alive.
