Lewis Miley became Newcastle United's youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer in their 3-0 win over Fulham St James' Park.

Lewis Miley has reacted to scoring his first Premier League goal for Newcastle United in their 3-0 win over Fulham.

The 17-year-old became the Magpies' youngest-ever Premier League scorer when he broke the deadlock at St James' Park in the 57th minute.

Miley starred throughout as further goals from Miguel Almiron and Dan Burn saw United return to winning ways after three straight defeats.

The Stanley-born midfielder responded emphatically to dropping out of the starting XI in place of Sean Longstaff. He was introduced midway through the first-half after injuries to Fabian Schar and Joelinton.

"What a moment it was for me and my family," said Miley. "They were in the stand. Great feeling to see the ball in the back of the net. Hopefully I can score lots more.

"I haven't checked my phone yet but I'm sure everyone will be buzzing for us."

Interviewed alongside Bruno Guimaraes, who set up Miley's goal and Burn's header in the latter stages, added: "Sometimes I can't believe he's 17. He's unbelievable. We're very proud of him."

On social media, Guimaraes: "We knew that today would be a very important game for us, after everything that happened in the middle of the week! Very happy to be back on the paths of victories!

"Thank you for the immense support today. We have a lot ahead of us and we need our fans to play with us. Always Newcastle".
