Eddie Howe makes Newcastle United transfer admission after £65m Marc Guehi bid & Fabian Schar ban
Schar started the Premier League opener against Southampton on Saturday but his afternoon lasted just half an hour after he sent off for supposedly headbutting Ben Brereton Diaz.
Emil Krafth came into the defence, partnering Dan Burn as 10-man United clinched a 1-0 win via Joelinton’s goal on the brink of half-time.

“And yeah, of course, we're looking in the transfer market, we've got a period of time left and we'll see what we can do.”
Newcastle are currently pursuing a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi but yet to agree a fee, despite lodging four bids - the latest understood to be £65million including add-ons. Palace chairman Steve Parish hailed Guehi as a superstar earlier this week and wants superstar money in order to sell.
Howe said on Friday that United won’t be pay “silly” money for players and aren’t afraid to walk away from deals if the demands are too high.

Howe added: “I think the conditions have to be right for us and like I said on Friday we can't something that goes against the longer term, good of the football club. So, we'll try and make the right decision.”
Newcastle lined up against the Saints with no new faces in the starting XI. Goalkeepers John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos were left out of the squad while Will Osula and Lloyd Kelly were named on the bench.
“I wouldn't say I have that emotion towards the transfer window,” Howe said. “It's been difficult for us, of course it has, it's not been one that things have landed for us or we've been able to spend money in the way that maybe we would like to take the team forward quicker, but I really do like the squad we have.”
