Anthony Gordon can certainly look back upon his senior England debut with pride after the Newcastle United star produced an eye-catching display against Brazil on Saturday night.
After hitting a high level of consistency to become one of the key players within Eddie Howe's squad over what has been a challenging season at St James Park, Gordon's form was rewarded with a maiden call-up to the England squad and he was thrust into the starting lineup for the meeting with Brazil.
The former Everton forward did not look out of place and was picked out alongside Jude Bellingham and John Stones as one of just three England stars that impressed Magpies legend Alan Shearer as he gave his reaction to the narrow defeat. Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate was also impressed as he suggested Gordon was a 'serious contender' for a spot on the plane to Germany for this summer's European Championships.
But has Gordon done enough to retain his place in Southgate's starting eleven for Tuesday night's friendly against Belgium?
