Lens midfielder Seko Fofana has confirmed he has received offers amid reported interest from Newcastle United, West Ham United and Arsenal.

The Premier League trio are all said to be keen on a deal for the Ivory Coast international ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline and they have been given some hope that Fofana would be open to a move away from the club he joined just over two years ago.

Speaking over the weekend, the former Manchester City academy midfielder addressed his future and claimed Lens ‘knows that he expects’ as the window enters its final days.

He told Canal+: “There are five days left to think and see what decision to make. As long as I’m on the pitch, I am happy because I know I will be able to express myself and give the maximum.

“I don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We will see. Everything is possible in these last five days. There are offers, some possibilities. I need to think about them with my entourage.

“The club knows what I expect. Today I’m just enjoying the moment.”

Lens reportedly value their prize asset at around £34million, a price that would represent a record sale for the French club.

Their need to sell Fofana has been reduced by Cheik Doucoure’s £20.34million move to Crystal Palace last month - although that has not stopped one Ligue 1 rival registering an interest in the midfielder.

L’Equipe have suggested Rennes have made an enquiry for Fofana but Lens ‘made it clear’ they would not sell the former Udinese star unless they received an ‘XXL offer’.
