Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has urged the Premier League and BT Sport to change the kick-off time for their trip to Newcastle United at the end of April.

Eddie Howe’s side host the Reds at St James’ Park on Saturday, April 30 at 12:30pm in front of the television cameras.

The Premier League clash on Tyneside falls in between Liverpool’s two-legged Champions League semi-final showdown with Villarreal.

And Klopp has ranted about the kick-off time, believing it is unfair on his quadruple-chasing team.

Ahead of their FA Cup last four clash with trophy rivals Manchester City, Klopp explained: “If you want to cause us problems you send us to 12:30 at Newcastle.

“I don’t understand it. I can understand that people want to see a football match between Liverpool and Newcastle but I don’t see why any team should have an advantage or a disadvantage.

“The league and the broadcaster really have to try at least to help. We will see. I haven’t heard anything yet. Nobody from BT contacted me yet.

“But I’d say common sense would tell you that it’s probably the right thing to do to move the game slightly backwards.”

The Reds play Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton and the first leg of their UCL semi-final with Unai Emery’s Villarreal before they visit St James’ Park at the end of the month.

Speaking earlier this week, Klopp accused the EPL and the TV schedule of impacting their chances of completing a historic Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League quadruple.

Klopp said: “If we play a Champions League semi-final, if you find another league in the world and another broadcaster where they put one team who is in the semi-final, might be two, might be three English teams, on a 12:30...What? What are you doing? Why would you do that?

“So that’s why it’s so difficult [to win four trophies], but nothing happens because nobody cares.”
