Man United takeover: Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s wealth compared to Newcastle, Man City & Liverpool owners
The UK’s richest man will meet with Manchester United for takeover talks this week as he fights interest from uber-rich Qatari royals.
Potential new Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe will fly to Old Trafford later this week for crunch talks with the club ahead of a potential purchase.
The richest man in the UK isn't short of a quid or two and would rival big-money owners at Newcastle United, Manchester City and Liverpool should his purchase of The Red Devils from The Glazers go through.
Sir Jim will face competition to purchase the Manchester club with Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani also in the race.
Sheikh Jassim is connected with the Qatari royal family and has an almost endless pot of money with which he has promised to wipe away all of the club's debt.
Here's how the net worth of Sir Jim and Sheikh Jassim ranks against other Premier League owners, including Newcastle’s PIF investors, as well as controversial outgoing United chiefs The Glazers.
