American YouTuber IShowSpeed has claimed to never have heard of Newcastle United in a new YouTube video.

In the clip, the 17-year-old is invited down to the Classic Football Shirts shop in London by GOAL and is shown around the store.

Speed, real name Darren Watkins Jr., makes a beeline for Cristiano Ronaldo shirts with his love for the Portuguese footballer no secret. After browsing kits from Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Juventus, Speed then goes on to have a look at other items in the stock.

When shown a vintage Newcastle United shirt, he's asked for his opinion on the Tyneside cub as the presenter adds "they are doing very well moment".

After a frown, Speed replied: "Newcastle... Premier League? I've never heard of that team. Don't know why bro."

Hilariously, later on in the 10-minute video, the YouTuber comes across a series of Lionel Messi shirts, who he brands as "the worst footballer ever". He then proceeds to pick up other kits to demonstrate who a real 'legend' is and, in doing so, unknowingly picks up a Jonathon Woodgate Magpies shirt to back his claim.

Newcastle isn't the only club to be on the back end of a dig from Speed in the video. When shown an Ipswich Town kit, he said: "I've never heard of that club, it's probably trash isn't it? Uber Eats? Come on now bro."

IShowSpeed rose to prominence thanks to his YouTube channel, where he would livestream gaming content. One day he was asked who his favourite player was, to which he responded Cristiano Ronaldo in a comment which snowballed into him being thrust into the footballing world.

Late last year Speed travelled to the UK on a mission to meet the former Manchester United forward, watching the Red Devils at Old Trafford and Craven Cottage.

Speaking on the GOAL video, he described his perfect kit. Speed said: "My dream football kit would be Portugal, with a Ronaldo face on it, they dip it in Ronaldo toilet, they take it out. Every kit has his scent. They take a piece of Ronaldo's hair and put it on. Portugal, number 7 on the back, that's the most perfect kit. I'd cry if I got that kit."
