Newcastle United have recalled Jamie Miley from his loan spell at League Two side Newport County.
The 20-year-old joined the Welsh side in the summer but he was restricted to just eight appearances in total because of injury. He lasted the game in November.

Hide AdMiley has been fit and available for the last few weeks and has appeared as a substitute in Newport’s previous three matches. But United have today activated the break clause that sees the midfielder return to Tyneside.

A club statement read: “Newcastle United midfielder Jamie Miley has been recalled from his loan spell with Newport County.
“The 20-year-old joined the Sky Bet League Two club on loan last summer and made eight appearances in all competitions for the Welsh club with six of those coming in league fixtures.
“Before heading out on loan, Miley featured in the first-team in pre-season, playing in the friendlies against Hull City, Urawa Red Diamonds and Girona.”

Hide AdMiley was at St James’ Park on Sunday as his younger brother Lewis scored the equaliser in Newcastle’s 3-1 FA Cup third round win against Bromley.
It’s understood a number of League One and League Two clubs have shown interest in Miley, whether be a loan or permanent.
Speaking about Miley after Newcastle’s win over Girona in pre-season, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said: “It’s a lazy comparison but it was a very Lewy Miley-type performance and I mean that as a massive compliment because he was very composed on the ball and very diligent off the ball, I thought he really helped us.
“Good tactically which isn’t easy for someone so young to come in and deliver that. As always with Jamie, he’s very level-headed and calm. That will have been a big moment in his career and I was delighted with how he did.”
