Newcastle United and Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

The Spain international has been linked with a move away from the La Liga giants throughout the summer and the Premier League has been touted as a likely destination.

Both Newcastle and Arsenal are hoping to add more creativity to their ranks with the transfer deadline now just days away.

The Magpies are said to be keen to add at least one further addition to their squad after completing the £60million signing of Real Sociedad and Sweden striker Alexander Isak.

And Mikel Arteta reportedly wants another winger after Nicolas Pepe completed a loan move to French club Nice last week.

The Premier League duo have been linked with a move for Asensio over the summer and it looks increasingly likely the 26-year-old will land a move away from the Spanish capital over the coming days.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has suggested Real manager Carlo Ancelotti will allow the former Real Mallorca man to depart and his agent is now working to find a new club for his player.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Asensio could leave and there are options for Asensio to be looking around.

“Let’s see what happens but from what I’m told, his agent is offering Asensio to Premier League clubs. So, keep an eye on Asensio because for Italian clubs it is not easy.

“AC Milan was an option but it’s not easy. For Premier League clubs, it’s something that has been discussed with his agent, so let’s keep an eye on Marco Asensio until the end of the market.”

Asensio is now in the final year of his current deal at the Bernabeu and he addressed his future in an interview given to Spanish outlet Diario AS earlier this summer: “I have one more year in my contract yet here we are talking about me leaving Real Madrid. This is an important moment for me, I will not deny it.

“I am more mature and not only on the field, this is an important moment and I will have to make important decisions.

“Me and my family know that I have to keep growing and moving forward. I want to achieve important things in football and they help me do that.”
