Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom after two top targets moved to other clubs last week.
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe is keen to add another midfielder to his squad once Sandro Tonali’s £52million switch from AC Milan is made official this week.

As well as Tonali, United had shown strong interest in James Maddison and Dominik Szoboszlai but neither player will be moving to St James’ Park this summer.
Maddison, a long-term target for Howe, joined Tottenham Hotspur, while Szoboszlai has moved to Liverpool after his £61million release clause was activated.
As Newcastle look elsewhere, fresh reports claim Denmark international Lindstrom has been identified as a potential alternative.

He won the Europa League during his debut campaign and reached the last 16 of the Champions League last season.
Lindstrom, who can play as a midfielder or wide forward, has been capped 10 times by Denmark and made three appearances at last year’s World Cup.
The Sun claims Lindstrom is valued at £30m by Frankfurt with AC Milan and RB Leipzig already having bids turned down.
Another midfielder also linked with Newcastle is Nice’s Khephern Thuram but, like Szoboszlai, is admired by Liverpool.
