Newcastle United have finally secured the signing of Sven Botman.

The Dutchman has now been officially announced after days of teasing reports, and Eddie Howe’s back-line just got a lot stronger.

Howe had already established a solid defence in the back-end of last season, and it will now be boosted by the addition of one of the brightest young defensive talent in Europe.

Newcastle were always expected to strengthen significantly this summer, and they could well continue their business after the signing of Botman.

Young winger eyed

The Magpies are said to be eyeing a deal for PSV star Noni Madueke.

The 20-year-old is said to be attracting plenty of interest this summer, with a slew of Premier League clubs tipped to make a move.

According to 90min, Newcastle are one of those clubs as Howe looks to add to his attack.

Madueke is actually England-born, spending his youth days at Crystal Palace and Tottenham before leaving for PSV.

He has already racked up 46 senior league appearances, scoring as many as 10 goals.

Eriksen talks ongoing

Newcastle are still in talks with Christian Eriksen over a possible free transfer.

The midfielder is now officially a free agent, with his Brentford contract coming to an end on Thursday.

Eriksen decided to walk away from Brentford following his short stint with the West London club, and it’s understood talks are still ongoing between the Magpies and the midfielder’s representatives.

It’s understood Eriksen has a number of offers and Newcastle are hoping to convince him of a move to St James’ Park.

The Dane has spoken about his desire to play European football, but the Magpies do have a big project to offer.
