Newcastle United already look better prepared for the new Premier League season.
The Magpies were always expected to invest significantly this summer, given their new owners, and they have not disappointed.

Eddie Howe has added key pieces to his squad, including big-money signing Sven Botman and loan star Matt Targett.
We could yet see further arrivals, but Newcastle are governed by Financial Fair Play rules, and given their January expenditure, they are unlikely to spend too much.
Though, outgoings will also be required with Howe needing to trim his squad in certain areas, and with all that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding St James’ Park:

Diaby opportunity
Newcastle have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby.
And in a fresh boost, Leverkusen’s sporting chief Simon Rolfes has said the club may be pressured to sell if they are offered a very profitable deal this summer.

“I’m optimistic about Moussa that he will play here next season,” he told Sky Sports.
“But when clubs with incredibly large financial opportunities bid for such a player, we have to sell a top player at some point.”

The 22-year-old winger may yet be available to Newcastle this summer.
Magpies to pause
Newcastle are said to be likely to pause their transfer efforts for the time being.
The Magpies have been busy early in the transfer window, and according to the Daily Mail, they are now set for a period of reflection.

Eddie Howe and the club’s transfer staff are said to be keen to take stock, hoping to analyse the squad during pre-season.
And later in the window, they could continue business with any pieces they feel they need to add ahead of the new campaign.
However, we could see exits during this period.
