Newcastle United are looking to bounce back after a frustrating defeat at the hands of Chelsea last weekend.

The Magpies were left feeling hard done by as they suffered a rare defeat amid a fine run of form under Eddie Howe.

Though, the fine form over recent weeks means the defeat is not likely to put Newcastle back into the thick of the relegation battle.

And as Newcastle plot their way back to winning ways ahead of a clash with stugglers Everton this weekend, we have rounded up all the latest transfer rumours.

Goalkeeper boost

Newcastle have been handed a boost in their reported bid to land Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha this summer.

The Magpies are said to have been monitoring Strakosha, with the keeper out of contract this summer, and potentially available without having to pay a transfer fee.

And in a fresh boost, Calciomercato report that Strakosha is increasingly likely to leave Lazio this summer, potentially giving Newcastle the chance to snap up the 26-year-old Albania international for nothing.

Leao setback

There is some bad news to accompany the good, and it involves AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.

Leao has been linked with the Magpies ahead of this summer, with Arsenal also said to be keen.

But according to Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG are expressing an interest as they look to shuffle their squad amid reported unrest.

Newcastle are likely to struggle to compete with PSG, even with their new-found riches.

Leao is likely to cost more than £60million this summer.
