Newcastle United are preparing for their return to Premier League action, following an international break that saw England claim wins against both Switzerland and the Ivory Coast.

The Magpies are almost over the finish line as far as top-flight safety is concerned, but another win or two would give Eddie Howe’s men the guarantee they seek.

Newcastle face Tottenham this weekend in a tough test as they look to bounce back from a frustrating defeat to Everton before the break.

And as we wait for club action to return, we have rounded up all the latest transfer rumours concerning the Magpies:

Isak interest

Newcastle have been tipped to join the race for Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak ahead of the summer window.

The Daily Mail claim the Magpies are read to rival Arsenal and Manchester United for the striker, who has impressed in La Liga, as well as last summer’s Euro 2020.

Isak has a release clause of around £75million and Real Sociedad are not likely to offer a cut-price deal this summer.

Rodrygo links

The Magpies have also been linked with Real Madrid’s Brazilian star Rodrygo.

Rodrygo has struggled for game time this season, falling behind Marco Asensio in the race to play on the right despite being in and out earlier in the season.

Real Madrid are expected to strengthen their front-line this summer, with Kylian Mbappe linked, and that could see Rodrygo offloaded.

According to Sport, Newcastle are near the front of the queue, with Los Blancos asking for a fee in the region of £33million.
