Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Everton forward Moise Kean. A new name is being linked ahead of the January transfer window.

Kean, 22, is currently out on loan at Juventus from the Toffees. However, according to a report by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, the Toon Army are among the Premier League clubs who are ‘admirers’ of him.

It is safe to say his move to England in 2019 didn’t work out. There was a lot of excitement among the Everton faithful when they lured him to Merseyside but he struggled to hit the ground running in England.

The Italy international made 33 appearances in all competitions during his first campaign at Goodison Park but managed to find the net only twice. He was subsequently shipped out on loan to PSG for the 2020/21 campaign and found his feet there, chipping in with an impressive 17 goals.

Juventus then came calling and brought him back to Turin last year. He has been back with the Serie A giants on loan for over 12 months now and has bagged a combined 11 goals over the past term-and-a-half.

Keane is still young and has the potential to get better in the future. He has also proved to be a useful back-up option for Juve over recent times. Still, it would be a shock to see Newcastle land him though, especially after seeing how his move to Everton went.

Targets continue to be linked with Eddie Howe’s side ahead of the next window but the club have been shrewd with their recruitment since the takeover and will no doubt continue to be so.
