Newcastle United are one of several Premier League clubs said to be monitoring the progress of Birmingham City academy product Trevan Sanusi.

The 16-year-old trained alongside The Championship club’s senior squad throughout last season and was called up for an away game at Blackpool in April but he is yet to make a first-team debut. That has not prevented the winger from coming on to the radar of some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, with the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and treble winners Manchester City all reportedly monitoring his progress.

The Daily Mail have claimed all four clubs have watched the youngster in recent months as the Blues academy continues to produce some highly promising prospects and they will hope Sanusi can go on to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham and Everton winger Demarai Gray.

Magpies ‘unwilling’ to meet Juve demands for winger

Juventus winger Federico Chiesa is reportedly a target for Newcastle - although any potential move could be scuppered by the Serie A club’s demands.

United are believed to be keen to boost their attacking options ahead of their return to the Champions League and have considered a number of options from around the Premier League and Europe with Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes and Atletico Madrid star Yannick Carrasco mentioned as possible targets.

However, a recent report in Italian outlet CalcioMercato has revealed the Magpies and Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Liverpool are unwilling to meet Juve’s £54million asking price and that could lead to the Serie A giants reigniting their talks over a new deal for the Italy international.
