The early-season form that caused some concern for Newcastle United must seem like a distant memory.
Eddie Howe’s side have reacted in spectacular fashion after losing three consecutive Premier League fixtures by going on a five-game unbeaten run in the league and that upturn in form was further extended by taking four points from Champions League group stage meetings with AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as the Carabao Cup win over Manchester City.
The Magpies latest win came on Saturuday as goals from Jacob Murphy, Anthony Gordon, Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson helped them to a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace as they gained full reward for a dominant display in front of the St James Park faithful.
