According to the Northern Echo, the defender is now essentially transfer listed, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2024. Newcastle won’t be offering Lascelles a new contract, and so offers are now being welcomed.

Nottingham Foresat and Wolves have been linked with a move for the centre-back, and it will be interesting to see whether either club make a move this summer. transfermarkt value Lascelles at around £6million, but it’s not clear what fee Newcastle will demand for their long-serving defender, who will likely have a big say in where he ends up.

Salah claim

Mo Salah believes the ‘old Liverpool’ may be back after he and his side saw off rivals Everton on Monday night. That’s particularly worrying given Newcastle are Liverpool’s next opponents.

“Captains, Hendo and Milly, were speaking last week and they spoke again yesterday,” Salah told Sky Sports. “Like ‘guys, we have to play our football, we need to enjoy [it], because we’ve been together for five or six years, we have new players so there is no point to play as we started.

“I think we managed to play good, as you say it looks like the old Liverpool, that’s also my opinion since last week.”
